Pope Benedict XVI
has appointed several new members to various Vatican dicasteries, assigning
positions mainly to the newest cardinals created in the recent consistory.
Among these, he
appointed Cardinal Kurt Koch, president of the Pontifical Council for
Christian Unity to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and to the Congregation for
Eastern Churches as well, along with Cardinal Antonios Naguib, patriarch of
Alexandria of the Copts, Egypt; and Cardinal Francesco Monterisi, archpriest of
Rome's Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
Cardinal Naguib was also named to the Pontifical Council for Migrants and
Travelers.
