With great joy, we congratulate our President, the Most Revd Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, on the announcement by Pope Francis today, Sunday 12 January 2014, that he is appointed Cardinal and will be admitted to the Sacred College of Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church on February 22, the Feast of St Peter's Chair.
