Very sadly, the Divine Liturgy in English at 9-30 am on Sundays at the Holy Family Cathedral, Lower Church, have had to be put on hold. Until the practicalities we cannot use the Lower Church space. Hopefully this will be resolved very soon. Please keep checking in here for details.

Owing to public health guidance, masks should still be worn indoors and distance maintained. Sanitisers are available. Holy Communion is distributed in both kinds from the mixed and common chalice, by means of a separate Communion spoon for each individual communicant.

IRAQ - VATICAN Eastern Patriarchs visit Benedict XVI: "I pray every day for Iraq , Syria and the Christians of the East" - Asia News

The pope emeritus spoke to the heads of the churches who visited him at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery after the plenary session of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches. Patriarch Sako invited Pope Francis to Iraq, who "smiled and promised a visit ."


Rome (AsiaNews ) - After the plenary session of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , the patriarchs still in Rome paid a visit to Pope emeritus Benedict XVI "like pilgrims in the rain", said Raphael Louis Sako, Chaldean patriarch and archbishop of Baghdad. "We had a friendly meeting , we asked him about his health and he asked us about the Middle East and the situation of the Eastern Christians ."
